National S’mores Day (155th new thing).

Day One Hundred Fifty-five was National S’mores Day. Exciting, I know. I decided to celebrate with a new activity: making s’mores on their once-a-year holiday.
The only way I’ve ever cooked the marshmallow chocolate graham cracker dessert has been over an open flame. Since I didn’t plan on starting any fires in the backyard, I opted for the safer indoors-friendly method: nuke ’em. Apparently it only takes about thirty seconds to puff up the marshmallow and melt the Hershey’s chocolate piece. While you miss the crispness of the outer marshmallow in this method, the ease and quickness of microwaving them has its pluses. Mostly time and lack of chances of catching anything on fire.
Patrick and I ate our dessert with glee, covering our fingers and faces with the sticky stringy melty mixture. They tasted like childhood.
